The Hyundai HY6500SEi is a 6.6 kW petrol inverter generator with remote electric start. Inverter sets rectify and re-synthesise their output rather than feeding it straight from the alternator, which produces a cleaner waveform than a conventional generator of the same size.

That is the reason to choose one. Laptops, control electronics, modern battery chargers and anything with a switched-mode power supply are sensitive to a distorted waveform, and a conventional set can shorten their life or trip them offline. If you are powering only lighting, heaters and plain resistive loads, you are paying for a benefit you will not use.
