If it is not right
Returns & Cancellations
Your right to cancel, how to return equipment, and who pays.
UK deliveries: we cover collection. If you are a consumer in the UK cancelling within the 14-day period, we arrange and pay for collection. You do not have to find a haulier or meet the cost of getting a machine back to us.
Export orders: you arrange and pay for return carriage. We will help you book it and will tell you the likely cost before you order, so it is never a surprise. Your right to cancel is exactly the same — only who pays the freight differs.
If you are buying as a consumer
You have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods, for any reason, without giving one. The period runs from the day you — or someone you nominate — takes physical possession of the equipment.
To cancel, tell us before the 14 days are up. An email to info@machinerygroupltd.co.uk saying you wish to cancel is enough. You can use the form at the foot of this page, but you do not have to.
We will refund everything you paid, including standard delivery, within 14 days of getting the goods back, using the same payment method you used. For UK deliveries we arrange and pay for collection; for export orders you arrange return carriage, as set out above.
You may handle the equipment as you would in a shop — enough to establish what it is and whether it works. If it is used beyond that and its value drops as a result, we may reduce the refund to reflect the loss. Running a machine in on a job is beyond that; starting it and checking it over is not.
If something is faulty or not as described
This is separate from cancelling, and it is not time-limited in the same way. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Within 30 days of delivery you can reject faulty goods and get a full refund. After that, and for the first six months, you can ask for a repair or replacement; if that does not resolve it, you can claim a refund or a price reduction. These rights are yours by law and nothing on this site reduces them.
If you are buying as a business
The 14-day cancellation right and the Consumer Rights Act apply to consumers, not to businesses buying in the course of business. Trade orders are supplied against the specification agreed in your quotation.
That is the reason we ask what the machine is for before quoting rather than after. If something arrives damaged, incorrect against your order, or not working, tell us and we will put it right — but a machine correctly supplied to an agreed specification is not returnable simply because the job changed.
Equipment that is not UK supply specification
Some equipment in our catalogue is specified for 110 V, 220 V or 60 Hz operation and is marked as such on its product page. We supply those items to trade buyers specifying them for a known application, not to consumers, because a machine that cannot be connected to a standard UK supply is not fit for general use.
If you are unsure whether an item suits your supply, ask us before ordering. That is what the enquiry step is for.
