60 Hz equipment — UK mains is 50 Hz

This unit is configured for 60 Hz operation; UK mains runs at 50 Hz. Heating elements and other resistive loads are largely indifferent to frequency, but motors run around 20% slower on 50 Hz and timer or control circuits can be affected. Tell us the application and we will confirm suitability before you order.

A WPP600 custom power module rated at 600 kW, built around a Caterpillar 3412 DITA engine.

DITA denotes direct injection, turbocharged and aftercooled — the configuration used where sustained high output matters more than light-load economy. At 600 kW a single set covers site prime power, industrial standby or temporary supply during a grid connection delay.

The 3412 has been in service long enough that parts and experienced engineers are readily available in the UK, which is a genuine consideration on plant you expect to run for twenty years.

Confirm output voltage and frequency before ordering: much of this stock is US-sourced at 60 Hz, which is not directly compatible with a UK 50 Hz mains supply.

This is a specific used unit rather than a catalogue build. Engine hours, test records and current condition are confirmed on enquiry, and inspection can be arranged. Price excludes VAT and delivery.
