60 Hz equipment — UK mains is 50 Hz

This unit is configured for 60 Hz operation; UK mains runs at 50 Hz. Heating elements and other resistive loads are largely indifferent to frequency, but motors run around 20% slower on 50 Hz and timer or control circuits can be affected. Tell us the application and we will confirm suitability before you order.

UK supply compatibility — please read before ordering. This unit is configured for 60 Hz operation, which is United States specification. Mains supply in the UK is 50 Hz at 400 V. As configured, this set cannot be paralleled with, or used as standby for, a UK mains supply. It can serve an isolated 60 Hz load, and many sets of this type can be re-governed and re-rated for 50 Hz operation — which changes the output rating and is engineering work, not a wiring change.
